teek, thanks for the warning but the problem is slightly different: CBE_Vol._20__CD_5_.zip was uploaded two times. Actually there is not part 1 and part 2, just that. And 7 track is all the CD's got as you can see in the tracklist:

Please state to us which one of the CD you listened to and the kind of problem you got. I can assure you that, given that some error is always possible, the sound quality of every 192Kbps MP3 file should be just the same as all the others.

Ho ascoltato i CDs con i sinfonies dirette da Karajan, e il primo disco delle piano sionatas con Kempff, e il suono é terribile. Sembra una molto mala registrazione, con molto buio e il piano non suona ma grida. Le sinfonie siuonano ugualemente pesime. Magari Lei possa di cambiare le archivi e postare di nuovo tutta l'edizione. Quella di Mozart suona abbastanza bene. Ci sono altre archivi che suonano splendidi, como quelli di Graun o quelli di Kuijken. Tante grazie fin dal Messico.
RispondiEliminaBibixy, thanks for your hard work but the sound is awful. Something went wrong when you compressed the files. 192Kbps is far enough to get a good sound, even for instrumental pieces. Did you get the internet APE version of this edition ? If yes, you should have use softwares like lame & cueproc to convert the files. Nice try anyway. ;)

So, in a word, I'm ashamed of ourselves, people who rejoiced so many a time in the beautiful music that one man provided for us - now the sound is too noisy, Ludwig van isn't that good as he used to be, to hell with mp3, Herbert von conducts like he has an arthritis... What happened to us, guys? Are we all going nuts?

Conversion and splitting are two separate operations.
RispondiElimina"Cue splitter" make the splitting on APE, FLAC, WAV, MP3 files or whatever provided that there's a CUE file instructing it how to do it.
"dbPoweramp" can convert any music file into any other provided that you install the correspondant plug-in.
Try XRECODE for converting any type to another, as APE to MP3

But unfortunately files from Rapidshare (192) sounds awful, all CDs were ripped wrongly, but the version in FileFactory is great, the sound sounds great, I tested similar CDs already, and sound in File Factory is clear and good. There is a problem with some "links" of the "Complete Beethoven Edition", some of them are unavailable (again =S) in the new 220 VRB average version on Rapidshare (like V07-CD3 or V08-CD2 etc.). Can you do something with them? Hope you can!
